Choose the right character with help from MDBG Chinese Reader's LiveScan
After installing Microsoft Chinese IME, you will need to configure IME Pad for Chinese handwriting. Don't have a digitizing pad? No problem, just use your mouse to draw characters in the IME Pad.
1. Open your email or document that will receive the Chinese characters
2. From the Windows Language bar, choose CH Chinese (Simplified, PRC)
3. Click Hand Writing (CH) and draw the character
4. As you draw the character, the candidate list will show potential matches
5. View the meanings of each character by hovering your mouse over the candidate entries. Chinese Reader will show an enlarged view of the character, its meaning and Pinyin. If AutoPronounce is enabled, each character will also be pronounced. The MDBG Chinese-English dictionary contains the most popular characters; radical fragments and obsolete characters are not supported

Microsoft Input Method Editor (IME) allows you to type or draw Chinese characters for Windows applications. This function is included with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP.
