I have a problem with some applications. How do I turn off Highlight Scan?
Chinese Reader's HighlightScan feature uses Ctrl-C to read highlighted text and perform translation functions. The HighlightScan window lets you view Chinese text and English translations at the same time for multiple words
.
1. The latest versions of Chinese Reader include enhancements to minimize "unwanted interactions" with more applications. Verify that you have the latest version of the software. From the MDBG icon in the Windows system tray, right-click and choose Help > About. Verify that you have version 5.5 or later.
2. Allow a 3-5 second pause after typing Ctrl-C. We've noticed that users with "fast fingers" may work faster than their computer can process our code for reading the screen during HighlightScan.
3. Some applications also use Ctrl-C for their functions and may cause unavoidable problems. If the other steps do not address your problem, then MDBG recommends turning off HighlightScan when using those applications.

- From the Scan window, right-click on the top title bar to display the Scan Options menu.
- Un-check HighlightScan.
