Configuring Microsoft IME Pad for Chinese Handwriting

Use this applet to recognize Chinese characters that you write with your mouse (or digitizing pad)

Configuration

After installing the Microsoft Chinese IME, configure IME Pad for Chinese handwriting. Don't have a digitizing pad? IME Pad lets you write characters with your mouse, too.

1. Show the Language bar

2. Choose CH Chinese (Simplified, PRC)

Add Microsoft IME Pad applet 

3. Open the IME Pad

Install Microsoft IME Pad for Chinese
4. Right-click the dictionary icon and choose User Settings...

5. From the Customize Applet Menu, click Show Applets for all IME
6. Choose the Hand Writing (CH) applet and click Add ->

Note
: If you've previously installed IME Pad, the Hand Writing applet may not be available. You will need to uninstall all the Chinese keyboard options, reboot your computer and re-install the Chinese keyboard(s).

7. Verify that Hand Writing (CH) has been added to the list of Current Applets and click Close

Draw a Chinese character using your mouse (or tablet) and it will appear on the left side of the IME Pad. The "candidate" list in the middle shows the possible matching characters.
