LiveScan with Chinese Reader

Understand Chinese by using it! Just point your mouse at Chinese text and the LiveScan™ window explains the Chinese text. Chinese Reader shows over 100,000 meanings of words and phrases from MDBG CC-CEDICT, the world's most popular Chinese-English dictionary. Instead of copying the text and pasting into an online dictionary, Chinese Reader immediately shows you the meaning of each word or phrase--even when your Internet connection is slow or unavailable. The dictionary is installed on your computer for fast, reliable access.

About LiveScan

LiveScan works with Chinese text that can be selected or copied to your Windows clipboard; graphics and video are not supported.

To personalize Chinese Reader with your own definitions and usage notes, use the Professional Edition's custom word capabilities. Add custom dictionaries, too.

Tips

Chinese Reader uses five different colors to represent each of the 5 tones in Mandarin Chinese. Words with similar Pinyin "spellings" may have very different pronunciations. ColorTones™ makes it easier to spot differences (as shown above).
