Using Windows 7/Vista* Control Panel

Uninstall through Windows Control Panel

MDBG Chinese Reader is a standards-compliant application. Use the Windows Control Panel to remove the application from your system:
1. Click on the MDBG Chinese Reader program icon
2. Click Uninstall/Change
3. Choose Remove the application from this computer. Click OK and follow the on-screen instructions

Deleting installation folders and files

Windows 7/Vista

To completely remove the Microsoft ClickOnce installation folders and files used by Chinese Reader:

1. From Windows Explorer, navigate to: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0
Substitute your user name for User. For example if your user name is Jonah, then navigate to
C:\Users\Jonah\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0

2. Open the folder with the “random number/name” (not Data). In the example above, open 1Z29W7HG.ZVQ

3. Open the next folder with a “random number/name.” In this example, open 1EYZ9MH6.Q8Q
4. Delete the folders starting with chin…exe and chin…tion
5. Scroll down and open the manifests folder

Windows 7/Vista
6. In the manifests folder, delete the files starting with chin…exe and chin…tion

Reinstalling Chinese Reader

1. From your web browser, download MDBG Chinese Reader from http://download.loqu8.net/cr6/crsetup_full.exe

2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

3. After the installation is completed, restart your system.

MDBG Chinese Reader uses Microsoft’s ClickOnce technology to install and keep the program files up-to-date.

  • To uninstall the program, use Windows Control Panel.
  • If you want to "deep clean" your system you may also delete the files used by the Microsoft ClickOnce installer.
